Even if you do, you are suffering for it, and most likely you will pile the weight back on. Secondly, weight loss is about being realistic. You didnot gain the over night , so you cannot expect to lose it overnight.
Losing weight is about staying patient, eating sensibly and staying active. But more importantly, it is about implementing new positive changes that will help you lose the weight, keep it off and improve your health. If you are ready for that, below are 5 key steps to get you going:-
1. Avoid saturated fats, and eat more ploy or mono saturated fats. Use Olive oil for cooking and salads and also try flax oil, canola oil, soy oil, walnut oil.
2. Eat small meals regularly, say 6 mini meals, and ensure you are eating enough. Just ensure you fill your plate with plenty of fiber, protein and healthy fat. Don't get into the habit of eating too little-this will casuse your metabolic rate to drop so steer clear fo diets that advocate eating less then 1200 calories per day. You may lose a lot of weight whilst on these but most of it will be muscle mass and water weight , not fat- and its the fat you want rid of!
3. Don't do the same exercises over and over- mix it up or you will lose your motivation. when losing weight, your body responds great at first, but as it gets used to the same routine, it stops responding as much because your body doesn't need to work hard to do the motions. So mix it up with interval training, and vary the workouts every month.
4. Know your portions and know your food- Prior to each meal, try to measure the proper portions of each food to prevent overeating. Being by preparing your proteins, followed by fresh vegetables- and keep track fo the total weight of your meal. A good way to control your calories is to use smaller plate and sticking to that 1 serve.
5. Perfection is not the key to fat loss- it is the enemy of fat loss. You don't need to be perfect. There's no such thing as the perfect diet or perfect meal. Perfection is very restrictive and inflexible - and will eventually lead to de-motivation. Its all about getting a balance in your life. When it comes to losing weight , be sensible about it- eat in moderation, be active and get your daily dose of nutrition by eating more fresh foods and whole grain products.
